HULLO!
Howdy folks!
x
I haven't blogged in a LONG time so I thought to give a life-update AND a new blogging schedule AND yes I hope to be returning for REAL this time AND a series I've come up with.
*coughs awkwardly* First of all, my most sincere apologies on abandoning both this blog and all you faithful readers. I do hope to reestablish a schedule and new ideas for posts ASAP.
I'm quite excited to begin another journey on this blog!!! *squeaks*
*clears throat* All rightyyyy then!!! Imma dive in now *silly face*
Guess what, y'all?! Dappled Sunshine has been on the web for over a yEaR! A year and three months to be exact. I hope to be consistent in blogging for another year and properly celebrate the two-year anniversary this time, come December.
Soooooo for a life update!
I shared with y'all my horse Daisy a few months ago. She was an amazing horse and I am so utterly bummed I wasn't on here to share stories with you guys. Some will definitely come later. For now I just have the sad news that she's gone back to her first owner because of arthritis problems (she's 23) and because I became too advanced for her. I am now pursuing writing novels more than riding horses at the time, so letting her go and retire to pasture and leisurely strolls in the woods makes me happy and relieved so I can work hard on editing Hero's Victory and my new up-and-coming WIP, which I will be sharing about later.
On an update of hospital news, I am in remission (meaning my PET scan shows no cancer YIPPEEEEE) and every three weeks I have a maintenance chemo. This chemo will continue until next year sometime between January and March. Thank you all, again, for your prayers! I am doing MUCH better and am living like a girl who never went through something like that, praise Jesus! I am struggling with slight PTSD and anxiety, but overtime this will get better.
I've read so many good books over theweeks months (*winces*) I've been gone! But two of my favorites are The Last Bride and The Timepiece by Beverley Lewis! Y'all, I've found a new favorite author of mine, one of many! Don't worry, I HAVE NOT stopped adoring Susan K. Marlow and Andrea Carter *winks*
At the moment I am reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. This book was first published in 1811, and guys....it's a dense, thick novel and the first chapter is explaining the estate (!!) and the second is explaining the characters' money problems! Talk about slow and boring and making-one's-brain-hurt kind of reading. After I got past those torturous first chapters, the story really unraveled and I'm finally in Book the Third (*imagines saying this with an English accent* *facepalm*) or in other words the last section of the book. So far, I've really enjoyed it. I'll have to do a book review on The Last Bride, The Timepiece, and Sense and Sensibility!
Now the exciting part.....my new WIP! I'm soooooo thrilled to share this with y'all! It is currently under the name A War for Independence in a trilogy I've planned out about the one and only Serenity Parker. A War for Independence is the first of two others: A Fight for Peace and A Battle for Love. They are historical/romance fiction, A Battle for Love being the most romantic out of all of them.
Currently, A War for Independence is almost at 20,000 words. If y'all have any cool ideas for a mock cover, HMU!
In this novel, sixteen-year-old Serenity Parker is captured by redcoats and held at hostage, then falls in love with Mark Williams over a period of time. It is not love at first sight, although she thinks him to be handsome, and slowly she falls into a crush, but not adoring love. In fact, after two months of captivity, she realizes she needs to bring her mind into focus and forget about being sweet on Mark or she'll risk both their lives. So she buckles down and begins to fight her own war for independence (hence the name), worried for her life, Mark's life, and the lives of her family.
She and Mark end up uncovering a deadly secret: a secret which may put everyone dear to her heart at risk of extermination.
Anyway, I'll hopefully come up with a captivating synopsis soon, since that was far from a back-of-the-book blurb. I'll post a sneak-peak sometime!
Soo this blog series I've come up with is my two week trip to Hawaii I just got back from yesterday! I've posted on Instagram about my trip a little but I'll go into diary-entry-type-posts and photo dumps here over the next few weeks! This will give me time to scrounge up better ideas for posts, too, so at the end of the Hawaii series I can shoot out new and better posts.
As for my blogging schedule, I'll be posting every Sunday. Trying to post during the week with school is quite challenging, so as long as I don't have an urgent or exciting post to share, Sundays will be when when I blog. Tomorrow I will actually officially post something. I can't wait!
I hope y'all are doing well! I can't wait to begin another chapter of life on this blog. I've so greatly missed it!
See everyone around!

That's so cool you went to Hawaii. It sounds like so much fun!
That's too bad Daisy had to go back to her first owner because of arthritis. That must be difficult for you. I know it would be for me. [I love my horses A LOT. But then again who doesn't?] <3 I hope she has a happy retirement. Give her a hug for me! <3 <3

Aw thank youuuu!! God IS ssoooooo good!!!
DeleteI can't wait to share a sneak peak with you! I'm so glad you're looking forward to it.
I do miss Daisy a lot. Today my sisters pulled out her old saddles and it was hard to see them without feeling sad :( But I'm glad she has a happy life now! How many horses do you have? What breeds?
I have two horses. One is an unregistered thoroughbred, and she's is very sweet. Her name is Red, she's by Win Lose or Draw [who is by A.P. Indy], and she's 18.
DeleteThe other is Tex. I think he is a quarter horse, because his first owner said his dam was from the King Ranch in Texas, but I don't know for certain. He's thirty-one [going on thirty-two], but he doesn't act his age at all.
