My WIPs

Hey, there! Thanks for stopping by :D

This page is where I've put out my serious novels I am working on, to share. All of my stories are Christian and focused on sharing the Word of God to others.  These stories are the ones I hope to self-publish someday by Lulu.

Horse Crazy Chronicles (HCC)
About Series:
This series contains books about individual characters in modern day about their horse(s). The first book is about Melissa Lewis. I have a vague idea for the second book, but it isn't written out yet. The book is barely and tentatively starting while Hero's Victory has twenty-five chapters.

Hero's Victory
Genre: contemporary/juvenile fiction
Word Count: 60,000+
Stage: furiously editing first draft
Blurb:
About Melissa Lewis' years between age thirteen-sixteen, and the adventures she has with training the abused Thoroughbred racehorse, Heartbreaker, into a champion when the colt falls into her hands by mishap. Includes the other struggles she goes through following the divorce of her parents and the move from Tennesse to Kentucky.

Wanderlust
Genre: contemporary Christian fiction
Word Count: 36,183
Stage: second draft writing
Blurb:
Fiona Scott is a young woman who wants to train a champion. Her gift in understanding horses is uncanny, and she’s the youngest unlicensed trainer in Kentucky, helping her father with every racehorse on Dreamland farm. She’s happy with her life, especially since her mare, Ginger, is going to have a foal; a foal she hopes to mold into a prodigy. But when she finds an odd golden locket in the woods that cannot be opened, questions start to rise to the surface about the coming foal’s safety, future, and past.
When struggling Cody Howard arrives on the farm, Fiona is frustrated. The boy is sulky and snappish, and she feels like she's responsible to be his friend.
But when Fiona’s mare, Ginger, brushes the brink of death during a near-tragic foaling, the two youths are drawn together. They start to unravel the mystery of the golden locket while training Wanderlust side-by-side. Can they press through the challenges ahead to success? Will they be able to save everyone they know from disaster, including Wanderlust? And will Wanderlust prevail to the highest peaks and win?

And then there is
The Katelyn Reed Series
About Series:
This series follows Katelyn Reed from age 12 to marriage in the 1850s. After the last book of The Katelyn Reed Series, I'll continue the series about Kate's daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, ect. I've named all the books for Kate's series, however, I haven't started them yet. I only have:

Comfort Me
Genre: historical fiction; try-to-be-mystery; juvenile fiction
Word Count: 34,000 something
Stage: finished and published privately by Lulu.com.
Synopsis:
Life seems perfect for Katelyn Reed. The bean harvest just ended, resulting in the farm becoming more prosperous. This all changes when a sudden wild stallion arrives at the Oliver Farm, soon spreading its destruction and stealing of mares into town and to other farms, befuddling everyone. Lucky for Katelyn Reed's family, the stallion has not hit their farm. After studying what appears to be a high-bred Morgan stallion, the citizens and farmers decide the horse will disappear soon, along with his stolen band of mares. This would be a lose, but a good result for the farmers who have to put up with the chaos.
      This never happens.
Instead, the stallion becomes crazed and does more than steal mares. Soon, the poorest of farmers are fighting to save their farms, all because of one horse. Kate determines to figure the mystery of this stallion: how did he get here? Why did he arrive? Soon, after investigating further, Kate realizes this is not a petty loose horse. Something or someone is behind the town's and the people's suffering.
All is in vain to keep the horse controlled. The Reeds' farm is hit. The Morgan takes the best of the family's broodmares and maiden mares. Again and again the horse returns. Then Kate encounters a dangerous accident that leaves her bruised and battered, and with a permanent limp.
Will she be able to find out the reason behind all their misery? Will she rescue them all from potential destruction and hurting of innocent people and horses before it's too late?

But, this book has a terrible plotline with no depth. Maybe I'll post the chapters on here, but I'll have to get the courage up to do so.......yeah, it's that bad *grimace* I'm not that happy with the turnout of the cover and such, but like I said, this is a simple "practice" round. I only wanted this book in a real cover for myself, not for anything more :D My future novels I will take much more time and really work hard on perfecting them. Also (and did I mention this? *shrugs*) this isn't the official first book for the KRS series. In fact, everything changes for future books, even her family.

  2. Yes, you do get to read them! When I get them finished, edited, and published by Lulu, y'all will be the first to get them, if you want. I'm thinking I'll post them chapter by chapter on my blog, unless someone wants to buy one :D <3
