Broken Hearts Healed by God
Hey everybody!
Sorry for a post a day late. Yesterday I was in a frenzy trying to get A War for Independence to 40,000 words. Sometime after 8:00/9:00 p.m. I got it to 40k....my brain hurts.
I know I said I was going to share photo dumps from my trip to Hawaii but my phone won't let me send any photos to my computer so until I can figure that out, any Hawaii photo dumps will be post-pone. Until then, I have other things planned, like devotionals, book reviews, and maybe short stories.
Let's jump into this week's post!

All of us are broken in someway. Some of us are broken severely by our past, day-to-day trauma, or PTSD. Others may be broken by not-as-severe things, but things that are just as hurtful to the person who is suffering from them. Some of us are just broken because of the sin of this world; broken by our tumultuous thoughts, selfish motives, angry actions, and all the things that bring us shame or hurt.
Lots of people search the world for something to help them forget about their brokenness. It might be travelling, a good job, recognition by fame, a boyfriend or girlfriend. Others feel angry because of their brokenness and hurts, and end up wanting to bring the same brokenness and hurt to other people. However, finding worldly things to cover up this brokenness or bringing other people brokenness might give you a sense of healing or satisfaction for a little, but at the end of the day, that brokenness is still there. Especially if you treat someone else wrongly; the wound in your heart won't feel better at the end of the day knowing the person you came across is now hurting, too.
What people don't know is there is a powerful, loving, forgiving, grace-abundant, never-sleeping, ever-constant God up in heaven. A Creator Who loves His creations. A Father Who loves His children. What people don't see is that all the worldly stuff we aim for and crave isn't what our hearts TRULY need. Our hearts need our Creator, our Heavenly Father, the God Who loves us, forgives us, grants us grace, never sleeps so He can always comfort us, and is constantly there, CHASING US because He loves us SO MUCH.
He is the One to come into our brokenness and give us healing.
He is the One to fill our broken hearts with His Presence and Peace.
He is the One to forgive us of our transgressions.
He is the One to see us for who we are and accept us; He gives us BELONGING.
God sent His Son, Jesus, to heal are hearts and promise us never-ending, overflowing LOVE no matter our circumstances. He promises us HEALING when we're broken. Forgiveness when we let ourselves and others down. Grace when we're upset. Love when we're lonely and hurting.
He is the Father Who ADORES His children. The Creator Who TREASURES His creations.
That's us. We're His children. We're His treasured creation.
Let Him enter you and heal your brokenness. Let Him fill you with Peace, Love, and Hope. Let Him mend our broken hearts.
Run to His open arms.
