Hope and Soul Soaring

Right now I am dizzy, shivery, and drugged, but my hope and soul are soaring.

Why? you're asking. If she is feeling dizzy, shivery, and drugged, why would she be soaring?

Indeed, other people will say, she's drugged! Isn't it obvious?

*sigh* Okay, so I have just been "drugged", if you want to call giving me anti-nausea medicine "drugging" me. So I am a bit loopy, but that doesn't matter. *shrugs*

*laughs* What matters is this:

I am in the hospital. On my computer. Writing this to you.

Oh, you say, it's a chemo day.

Yes, it is, I reply. Miserable. But also, my hope and soul are soaring.

Why?

THIS IS MY LAST ROUND OF CHEMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After that, FREEDOM!!! I will never never never have to go through chemo or cancer again!! (Hopefully *knocks on wood*)

I am SOARING!!! Right now, I don't feel good (at all) but I am actually VERY EXCITED!!!

So, I have a few things from the Bible and a few quotes that I want to share, to get your hearts soaring. May these bless you, and I pray that you will tuck it into your heart so it can have wings to soar.

Our Beautiful Holy Book

Psalm 91 (this is the verse that I've held onto through this journey of cancer. It's been my rock, my hope, and my strength. As the chemo doxorubicin pumps into my veins at this moment, I pray that my favorite passage in the Bible will give you strength and take away your fears)

(Psalm 91: 1-4) Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust him.  For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

(Continued, 5-8) Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in the darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying are you, these evils will not touch you. Just open you eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

(Continued, 9-12) If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order His angles to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.

(Continued, 13-16) You will trample upon fierce lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation."

Amen! I've read this before, but as I wrote this out, these words hit home - again. Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Do not dread the DISEASE that stalks in the darkness..........

If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.

I will protect those who trust in MY name.

This is my lifeline; my hope; and the reason why my heart has wings.

I pray this over each person who read this. I pray this Psalms over you; that you will find the truth in it, and that it will help you, and come true.

Now, I will share a poem that is special to me <3

For Courage
by John O'Donohue

When the light around you lessens
And your thoughts darken until
Your body feels fear turn
Cold as a stone inside

When you find yourself bereft
Of any belief in yourself
And all you unknowingly
Leaned on has fallen

When one voice commands
Your whole heart
And it is raven dark,

Steady yourself and see
That it is your own thinking
That darkens your world

Search and you will find
A diamond-thought of light,

Know that you are not alone
And that this darkness has purpose
Gradually it will school your eyes
To find the one gift your life requires

Hidden within this night-corner.

Invoke the learning
Of every suffering
You have suffered.

Close your eyes
Gather all the kindling
About your heart
To create one spark.
That is all you need
To nourish the flame
That will cleanse the dark
Of its weight of festered fear.

A new confidence will come alive
To urge you towards high ground
Where your imagination
Will learn to engage difficulty
As its most rewarding threshold!

Wow. That is beautiful. I started to cry. (I encourage you to read "For Courage" out loud)

I hope this has blessed your heart, and sent your soul soaring............
