Praise the Lord, I Have Good News!!

Howdy, folks! 

This post will be full of PRAISE, JOY, and CELEBRATING!! Including a little tidbit of an update I will be doing to this blog. 

The PRAISE, JOY, and CELEBRATING: 

As you all well know, we've been waiting for the news of radiation. 

If I'm going to have it, or if it isn't necessary. 

We've been hoping and praying it will be unnecessary. 

Now, today at lunch, my mother walks up. She looks at me and says, "Well, ready for your news?" 

My heart drops and my stomach lurches. At the look on my mother's face, I'm thinking, It's good news! But caution slams into my brain, giving my the sinking, squeezing filling in my ribs. 

Don't get your hopes up. Remember when you got the news you had cancer? They tried to be as cheerful as they could while crying.

So I wait. Mouth turning up at the corners, Mom says, "The doctor has said that radiation is not needed! You are in remission! You are cancer free." 

The world stopped. I stand there, mouth dangling open, heart hammering. I become sweaty. I give a stunned look with my beaming, teary-eyed father, my laughing mother, and my speechless sisters. 

Just like my stomach lurched all of a sudden, I came alive. I bounced on the ground. I waved my arms. My brain became a firecracker. 

I'm cancer free! Cancer free! Cancer free! 

I rush to Mom and embrace her in a hug. Then I pull away, tears springing to my eyes. 

"Oh, sweet girl," Mom whispers as I rub my sleeve across my eyes, then bury my face into her neck, crying. I feel Mom's chest shake against me. I realize she's crying, too. 

"You're cancer free," Mom whispers. 

I'm cancer free. The words echo in my head, even now as I sit at my desk in my room, thinking, writing this to you. 

Now I can say what I've been wanting to say forever. For real. 

I AM CANCER FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

LET'S CELEBRATE!!!!!! 

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*throws confetti* 

*dances in circles* 

*whoops* 

*gives high-fives all around* 

*hands out shimmering streamers* 

*waves my streamer around*

Thank you all for being there. All of you have become some of my best friends, even though we've never met. Your encouragement, love, prayer, and the way you've held me up during this tiring journey as given me unspeakable strength. 

I am going to pray for each one of you everyday forever. I will remember all of you forever. And I can't wait to keep posting and getting to know each of you better and better.

The Update: 

I am going to change the background of my blog, add a new tab, and change my "About Me" page. Other than that, I won't be doing much more. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
